Community Groups
Community Groups

While you will be introduced to our church community during our Sunday morning gatherings, we want to welcome you into our smaller mid-week gatherings we call Community Groups. Community Groups are people from the church that get together weekly to share life and support one another. Life is hard. It was never meant to be lived in isolation. Community is a gift of God intended to help us see and experience the good news of Jesus in profound and tangible ways.

A Community Group is NOT simply a support group, a Bible study, a series of events, or a weekly meeting. A Community Group is a small group of 6-20 people seeking to:

CONNECT more meaningfully…
GROW more effectively, and
SERVE together passionately.

We typically gather on a weeknight in our homes, restaurants, coffee shops or parks to pray and study the Bible, but that is just the beginning of our life together. Our “communities” foster an environment where friendships can begin and grow. As we connect more meaningfully and authentically together, we focus on Jesus and his work in our lives. And it is in him we find purpose, enjoy lasting relationships, face life’s difficulties and celebrate life’s joys. If you are looking to experience life transformation as a disciple of Jesus, or just trying to figure out what that means, a Community Group is for you!

Here at Discovery, we talk a lot about community. We believe God has welcomed us back into a relationship with Him through Jesus and desires us to live in relationship with each other. There is nothing more we would like to do than welcome you into our community and help you realize the fullness of life Jesus Christ has for YOU!

Get Connected. Keep Growing. Begin Serving.
How can you connect with a Community Group?

Whether you're new to Discovery or have been here since the beginning we want to see you connected in community. We recognize that it is not always easy to connect with new people in a new place, so we are committed to helping you. Here are some simple steps to connecting with us:

  1. Attend Sunday morning worship. We seek to foster an environment where people can naturally connect in relationship.
  2. Check “Community Groups” on your Connection Card and place it in Sunday’s offering bag. Then we’ll contact you.
  3. Have conversations in the lobby with our Community Leaders before or after church. Grab a cup of coffee… and they’ll find you.
  4. Check out the Community Group table in the lobby. You’ll find information for each group there and be able to sign-up.
  5. Take a step and try a Group out. We have people at different ages and stages of life, coming from different backgrounds, meeting at different locations, yet focusing together on Jesus and his message for our lives. We welcome you to visit several different Groups and find the community that best fits your life.
  6. You can also directly contact the Community Leaders listed below.
